The Collegiate Gothic Style High School designed by Oppenhamer & Obel is the oldest surviving school in the area. Located just off Grand Avenue, the school closed in 2011. It has since received a $7 million makeover. Now operating as the Elementary School Apartments the building holds eighteen two and three bedroom apartments. Commonwealth Construction Corporation of Fond du Lac preserved most of the historic features including all of the original windows, revealed the decorative tin ceilings and preserved the original chalk boards.
