Historic Buildings in Wisconsin
Through the Photographers’ Eye

Do you enjoy photographing old buildings? If so, submit your pictures to our Flickr group, "Historic Wisconsin Buildings." The response so far has been great and photographers from around the state are participating. We are assembling a wonderful collection of contemporary and historic shots of vernacular and high-style buildings from across Wisconsin. Our slide show offers a sampling of some of the finest.

Preservation Stories

Let us know about a special building in your area to feature on the WTHP Blog!

The Wisconsin Trust for Historic Preservation is dedicated to educating those from around the state of Wisconsin to the rich history of our state's buildings and structures. We are pleased to announce a new initiative on WIPreservation.org called Preservation Stories. Each year at the Local History and Historic Preservation Conference, we present stories from around the state compiled into educational brochures. (These stories are currently being shared on our blog.)

If you would like to submit a story to be featured on the WTHP blog, email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it letting us know about the history of the building and its current status. Please share a high quality photograph that can be posted to our site as well. This is an ongoing series, so please feel free to send us your stories throughout the year.
