The Wisconsin Trust for Historic Preservation with The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation have created this workshop, along with professional sponsors from around the state.
This event is recommended for community and economic development teams, theater owners, developers, and citizens interested in preserving their local heritage and historic buildings.
The workshop will feature the successes and challenges facing Wisconsin’s historic theaters and present the best practices in historic preservation.
You will learn how to execute a revitalization plan for your local theater or Main Street project. Experts will talk about every aspect of a historic restoration or adaptive reuse of a property and how to turn it into an economic engine. See for yourself the ongoing preservation activities of historic theatres and the other UNESCO World Heritage buildings on the Taliesin estate.
Registration closes September 15!

ADDITIONAL EVENT INFORMATION
Hillside Tour Registration
Don’t forget to register below to join a special behind-the-scenes tour of the Hillside ground at Taliesin! A revolutionary design of Frank Lloyd Wright, Hillside was built on three levels to follow the natural slope of the hill it rests upon. Built in 1902 as a boarding school for his two aunts, Hillside houses a theater and a 5,000 square foot drafting studio — it still operates as a school of architecture today.
The Hillside Theatre is one of the only 16 projects that received the “Save America’s Treasures” grant for its restoration work. The theatre is normally closed to the public, but as a workshop participant, you will get to venture behind the scenes and see the newly restored theatre.
N.B. Tour registration is required and separate from event registration.
